The Premier League has a new record holder for most goals scored in a season.
Erling Haaland’s goal, his 35th in the Premier League, playing for Manchester City, breaking a 29-year EPL record held previously by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.
Who is Erling Haaland?
Erling Haaland, 22 is a Norwegian born football player was born on July 21, 2000, in Leeds, England, and is the son of former professional footballer Alf-Inge Haaland.
Haaland began his football career at Bryne FK in Norway before joining Molde FK in 2017. He quickly established himself as one of the most promising young talents in Europe and was signed by Red Bull Salzburg in January 2019. He made an instant impact in Austria, scoring 29 goals in just 27 league appearances and helping Salzburg win the league title.
In December 2019, Haaland announced himself to the world with a stunning performance in the UEFA Champions League, scoring a hat-trick on his debut for Salzburg against Genk. He finished the 2019/20 Champions League campaign with 10 goals in just 8 appearances, including two more hat-tricks.
