Kawhi Leonard has a torn meniscus in his knee. Will he be forced to retire or can he still bring the Clippers and NBA Championship?

Kawhi Leonard lead the Toronto Raptors to an NBA Championship and ever since he left Toronto, he has been plagued by injuries in his knees.

LA Clippers owner Steve Ballmer had hoped for an NBA Championship when he spent a ton of money on Leonard and Paul George, but it has not worked out for him.

Kawhi Leonard has a torn meniscus in his knee and everyone is asking, should he retire? Should the Clippers trade him? If there one more season left in him to bring the Clippers an NBA Championship?

Leonard played college basketball at San Diego State University, where he was named Mountain West Conference Player of the Year in 2011. He was then selected 15th overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 2011 NBA draft but was immediately traded to the San Antonio Spurs, where he would spend the first seven seasons of his NBA career.

During his time with the Spurs, Leonard established himself as one of the best two-way players in the league, winning two NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2015 and 2016. He was also named an All-Star and All-NBA player multiple times and helped lead the Spurs to an NBA championship in 2014, where he was named Finals MVP.

In 2018, Leonard was traded to the Toronto Raptors, where he led the team to their first NBA championship in franchise history and was named Finals MVP for the second time. He then signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019, where he currently plays.

What are Clipper fans saying about the latest Kawhi Leonard injury?

Leonard should retire. He hasn’t been anything since he left Toronto.

Trade him. Let’s see if we can get something for him if he decides to play again.

We’ve seen some of the most talented players careers cut short because of knee injuries. No knock on Kawhi, he is a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. But I definitely think he should consider retiring.
