Smith was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played for the Jets for two seasons, starting in 29 games and throwing for 5,571 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions.
After the Jets, Smith bounced around with a few teams before settling in with the Seattle Seahawks and having his breakout year last season.
Coming out of college, Smith was known for his strong arm, athleticism, and ability to make plays with his legs. However, he struggled with accuracy and decision-making, which hampered his ability to succeed at the NFL level until last season.
