Yu Darvish Contract signing with the Padres
The Padres have been building a talented and deep roster, and signing a player like Yu Darvish to the mix will only make them stronger.

The San Diego Padres have re-signed right-handed pitcher Yu Darvish to a six-year, $108 million contract extension. The deal starts this MLB season and will end when Darvish is 42.

Darvish, 36, finished last season with a 3.10 earned runs average and 197 strikeouts in 194.2 innings pitched.

The Padres decision to sign Darvish was a smart and strategic move for San Diego. While there are certainly risks associated with any baseball signing, Darvish’s ability to perform at a high level will play an important role in helping San Diego achieve their MLB championship goals.

Darvish who hales from Habikin, Japan was signed as an undrafted pitcher by the Texas Rangers in the 2012 MLB season where he finished 5th in rookie voting.

What are fans saying about the Yu Darvish contract?

Wasting all this money to lose to the New York Mets

With all the contracts that have been given out this feels like a steal for the Padres.

I thought Darvish was finished? 6 year deal? Maybe 3 year deal.
